Although they are labeled as “superfoods”, there is no specific guideline for what they include. A superfood I would include is blueberries, walnuts, and salmon. Since I am on the topic, I would also like to give a shout out to the Mayan culture as they would eat the chia seeds before battle to give them sustainable energy. I found out about super foods when I was trying to find out what was good for the brain and what else there could be. It wasn’t hard to switch my diet because I always ate really healthy and I was eating a lot of these super foods before.
According to the article “What Makes a Superfood Super?”, it states: “Scientifically speaking, though, there is no official definition of a superfood, other than to say it is a food that offers high levels of desirable nutrients, linked to promoting personal health and wellness or preventing disease and sickness”.
