To me, the true meaning of the Holiday Season is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ; and acknowledgment of His Divine guidance and purpose in our lives. His guidance does not just come once a year. It is the acknowledgment of this guidance that we are celebrating on this day (and around this time of year). I believe He is always with us. Because of this and having more intention on Him this time of year, it makes people more Christ-like. People are more generous this time of year. They are donating to good causes to make a difference in people's lives year-round. Some of these important causes are; Toys for Tots, Motorcycle Toy Run, Make a Wish, and the TBI Warrior® Foundation. These are all linked for you below so you can learn more and potentially donate. I was thinking, “What can I do today?” I am always working out and eating healthy. I am always thinking about what I am eating and my meal plan. So I was thinking it would be nice to treat myself to some chocolate. It worked out that I was already going out today. So we found a Cold Stone Creamery. Chocolate is my favorite sweat in general so it was an easy decision. I got the Chocolate Devotion® which is Chocolate Ice Cream with Chocolate Chips, Brownie and Fudge. It is the ultimate chocolate lover's ice cream. And don’t forget the waffle cone is also dipped in chocolate. I am always intentional about what I put into my body so it can affect my health in a positive way. But when I do treat myself, everything goes out the window. This way I get exactly what I want and am craving. So then the craving is satisfied. Also it is important to note, I work out all the time so it is not a big deal to have ice cream every once in a while. This will not add 10 pounds. It was impactful for my week because this is not my normal everyday routine. SO this makes it even more meaningful. I enjoyed going out with a friend and just hanging out like everyone else. And then deciding I wanted something and going to get it. Having that instant gratification; which is totally ok in moderation. I was even still thinking about it the next day and how good it was. |
