The 4th of July is the day we gained our freedoms from Britain. We celebrate Independence Day this weekend. It's all good fun with barbecues, fireworks, and the works. It's America's birthday and as an American, it's important. My family and I used to go to the Fairgrounds in California to play carnival games, watch the fireworks, and eat junk food like the American staple of hotdogs and hamburgers. The fireworks were like "ohhhh pop pop pop!"
Freedom of speech and everything listed in the constitution and amendments are important to me. I would like to say thank you to those who fought for our freedoms.

I originally wanted to write a cookbook for other people who had a TBI to write down healthy recipes for the brain, metabolism, and to show them how to eat healthy. In school, we are so focused on how to do math, science, and social studies that they don't teach you how to eat correctly. People should definitely consult with their doctors first and take in consideration what they are allergic to, but this hopefully will help with the TBI healing process. I have included recipes for overnight oats, tofu scrambled eggs, paleo pancakes, energy balls, shakes, turkey tacos, grilled salmon, vegetarian chili, and more. I will probably end up working on this book for the next two years or so. I want it to be great and have about 40 to 50 recipes in there. But, they all need to be healthy and good for the brain for me to include them.
To everyone reading this, I just want you to know that this weekend is Father's Day, which is a very special day that does not get enough recognition. Everybody is always concerned about the mom, and she is amazing too, but you have to recognize that it takes two to tango. Father's play an important role in a child's life.
When it's bedtime, I call to say goodnight and that I love them every night. I also try to send them school supplies, activities, and holiday gifts throughout the year to give them a foundation. I know when I was going to school, it was very important that I had everything I needed, and I want to be able to give that to my kids. I can't be there in person with them, but I do as much as I can. Let's just say, I don't want to get into it, but I have two father figures. I want to wish them both Happy Father's Day. My dad and step-dad have both taught me a lot and I am thankful for that. Joshua, be careful in everything you do. Then you will be prosperous and successful. However, God commanded you to be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid for the Lord your God will always be with you wherever you go.
On Cinco de Mayo, my mom and dad came to pick me up to take me to Vallejo to see aunt Michelle and uncle Jonny. We had a barbecue in the backyard and we had had beef, potato salad, beans, and watermelon. It was to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and everybody had the day off. It was nice to see them, what else can I say! It's just a terrific feeling to spend time with them and I don't get to see them often. My mom and probably my dad are coming again early next week and honestly I would like to go back and see my aunt and uncle, but I'm not sure what the plan is.
