From the article, “Keeping In Touch With Family Can Keep You Healthy”, it states: ‘“This idea of feeling connected becomes very reinforcing, to all of us, and it contributes to happiness, it contributes to mental health and it does contribute also to physical health,” says John Northman, a psychologist from Buffalo, NY. “It’s well known that when people feel better connected, that they feel better physically, they’re certainly less likely to feel depressed — or if they do, they’re in a better position to get out of being depressed. “Overall, it leads to a feeling of a greater degree of support and connection psychologically,” he said.’ https://www.webmd.com/healthy-aging/guide/family-support#1 My parents let me know that they were coming in the afternoon last week. I was able to give them a big bear hug and they brought me coffee. We talked outside on the bench about “stuff”. I don’t want to leave you guessing, so “stuff” just means “stuff”. Haha! They were here for a couple hours and came because we haven’t seen each other in a long time. They have been busy moving so it was actually kinda surprising. I haven’t seen them in over a year and it was nice nonetheless. Seeing them next is left in the open but I will get some concrete plans soon.

This week I went to the beach for the first time in a while. We went to Natural Bridges in Santa Cruz. I ran around the beach, collected rocks, and took pictures. I didn’t go in the ocean because it was too cold and I wasn’t dressed for it. It was actually pretty crowded which was kinda nice to see everybody having a good time. The natural arch had lots of birds on it and around it too. One day I’d like to try surfing again.
Chia seeds are beneficial because they provide sustainable energy. From an article I found, it says that “Chia was valued by the Aztec cultures because of the strength, stamina, and endurance that it provided to their people. A tablespoon of chia was said to sustain Aztec warriors for an entire day! The seeds were also used as medicine and prescribed for wounds, joint pain, sore throats, and sore eyes.” It says that “Chia is an increasingly popular food ingredient among consumers and manufacturers. The nutrient-rich seeds are good sources of α-linolenic acid, fiber, protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, prompting claims that chia is ‘superfood’”.
I always knew there were certain types of food that add oxygen to the blood, so I did a little bit of research myself. This is what it came up with… Water, dark leafy greens, tofu, broccoli, red and yellow bell peppers, carrots, green beans, potatoes berries, red kidney beans, walnuts, and citrus fruits.
In the article, it said that it was best to eat these foods raw to get the most nutrients possible. These are the foods that oxygenate your blood the most. I’m no doctor, but these are what I would recommend being somebody that eats these foods as well. |
