I like how the writer, Malcom Gladwell, makes things very simple. His writing is easy to read. I have read “Outliers”, “Blink”, and “The Tipping Point” and liked them all. I resonated the most with the book “Blink”. I know the story of “David and Goliath”, but I would be interested in reading the meaning behind the story and how he emphasizes the plot. I have read this book but it has been a long time. I would like to read “Talking to Strangers” because it is another one of his books and I like the way he writes in a biblical sense so I am able to better understand where he is coming from.

I am writing a second book because I want to say that you can improve past what the doctors say and that God is more powerful. There is more science based material in this book than the first. I enjoy writing and telling my story because I have the belief that someone will be inspired by what I have done. I can only hope I inspire other people with a TBI. Like I said in my book, the TBI is not a death sentence like I believed it was. It talks about my journey and what my doctors first thought. The outcome the doctors thought I would have was so gloomy. They did not foresee me running or walking or talking or even thinking. But I can do all of that now. I talk about the Lord and how he has helped me overcome these obstacles that were believed to never be surpassed. But with him in my corner, I have been able to do it all. It was when I was really down and out that I found God. I had no other option or no way out and I felt lousy. I didn’t know what to do and I turned to Him. He helped me get out of the hole I was digging.
I used to wish I took the day off of work when I fell, but my bond with my family has become deeper. In my pursuit of happiness, you are what I come back to. I don’t know what I would do without you in my life. I used to be the pillar that held us together. I have realized it is actually you, sweetheart. I wish I saw that before, but I do know now. I love you even more. God, you have been my guide like a lighthouse guiding a ship in a storm, like I said in my book. He has cleared all the obstacles in my path to you three. I have almost regained control of the helm in my life.
It has begun! Finally it is here. I have been waiting an exponentially long time. Ha okay… It wasn't too long but it seems like forever before I was able to enjoy my time out of Learning Services. I went to a local burger place and got a shake and fries. We then went on a hike at Mt. Shasta park. I gotta say, when I first got there, I wasn’t too impressed. But after doing the hike I was really happy because it was actually a really good hike. It was better than I anticipated. I saw some redwood trees and the pictures are below. Honestly, my goal is to hike 20 miles but I know I will probably not achieve this goal with my one on one service. My realistic goal is to be able to hike five miles with elevation gain. |
Come back soon for new blogs weekly!I will be writing about my TBI recovery tools, favorite healthy recipes, workout ideas and encouragement, and ways I stay engaged. Archives
