The Horror

I remember being young, I'm not sure how old I was, but I was so excited and I think it was my birthday. It was sunny and I was riding my bike so happy like it was harmonious. Then the taste of metal and it turned black. I was getting up off the ground to discover I had a bloody nose. I had crashed my new bike into a parked car. I can laugh now, but it wasn't funny at the time. That was the beginning of my bloody nose horror. You see, I am still unsure why, but I frequently got bloody noses. I don't get worried when it happens anymore. I just pinch my nose for 20 minutes and then it's gone.

Praise the Lord

Everything is not seeing, but believing. All things to back to my faith and all things work together for good. Like for me, walking and talking for instance. I can not only walk, but I can also run six miles. The same can be said about my voice. I was never supposed to get my voice back, but of course I put in the work. It was my faith that got me back to being able to speak and walk as well as I can. It is my "new normal." I can even sing, praise God!

Where the St. Patrick's Day Parade Comes From

"The First St. Patrick’s Day Parade Was Held in America:
While people in Ireland had celebrated St. Patrick since the 1600s, the tradition of a St. Patrick’s Day parade began in America and actually predates the founding of the United States. Records show that a St. Patrick’s Day parade was held on March 17, 1601 in a Spanish colony in what is now St. Augustine, Florida. The parade, and a St. Patrick’s Day celebration a year earlier were organized by the Spanish Colony's Irish vicar Ricardo Artur. More than a century later, homesick Irish soldiers serving in the English military marched in Boston in 1737 and in New York City on March 17. Enthusiasm for the St. Patrick’s Day parades in New York City, Boston and other early American cities only grew from there. "

This holiday was never celebrated in my house. I understand what it is about and the fact that Irish people eat corn beef and cabbage. It was a poor mans meal for the Irish American immigrants. The holiday celebrates St. Patrick and what he did for Ireland. It was really just a day I remember as an excuse for people to get drunk.

Foods Good For the Brain

- You can find low fat dairy yoghurt, milk, and cheese.
*disclaimer* - Some foods that have less fat have more of something else. To make foods taste good, there’s usually a combination of sugar, salt and fat. If one of these flavors is missing (i.e. fat), it’s commonly replaced with MORE of the other two (i.e. sugar or salt).
Low Fat vs. Fat vs. No Fat
-You can find leafy green vegetables like kale, spinach, Romain lettuce, and micro greens. Leafy green vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet. They're packed with vitamins, minerals and fiber but low in calories.
Leafy Greens
-You can find high fiber fruits by eating the skins of kiwi. It also says mango and orange peels are high in fiber.
