Salt of the Earth

To preserve, and refresh, salt is actually an electrolyte.

Humans are to be the salt of the earth, it preserves the good, and keeps things fresh. In Matthew 5:13, Jesus states, "You are the salt of the earth," implying that followers of Christ are meant to be a positive influence, preserving and “flavoring” the world. In response to hate, show love. Be the salt of the earth. Salt makes you thirst. So let people thirst for the kingdom. 


As I stated, we need electrolytes to stay hydrated. Salt energizes the body. As the name suggests, it is like "electricity” for the body and mind.  People energize the world. People are like electricity for the world. We have brought so many things to this planet that would not be here without us, for better or worse. Just like salt for the body, too much of any one thing can be bad. As the salt of the earth we have a responsibility to be a positive influence on the world. We do not want to tip the scale of harmony.
