No one could see it, I couldn’t see it either. He moves before me. It took a while to come to this conclusion. However every time I’m uncertain, it’s not my actions that bring me certainty, it's trusting Him. Having a child like faith, and knowing He endures forever, is what helped me prune off the unnecessary parts of my life. I stopped trying to figure everything out. I decided to trust Him and practice my faith. I see it like a muscle the more I stretch it, the more it strengthens. He allows us to go through trials. They are not meant to break us. However they bring us to reflection to understand we only made it through, because of His grace. In the process it grows our faith, and strengthens us. Do you need reflection to see what He did for you?

Tomorrow is a lie. The cemetery is full of people who thought they had tomorrow, but it never came. Those are people in the cemetery. The only moment you own is THIS one, and you’re wasting it. Remember time here on earth is a gift; don’t waste it on worrying about tomorrow. We are not promised tomorrow. Tomorrow may never come. Live every day like it is your last. We can shit in one hand and wish in the other, see which one fills first. There is only one truth, one way: Jesus Christ. Who declares in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.” This verse signifies the truth, whether you’re on the fence or not. He tells us what we need to do. Live for Him- not your job, boss, or any other worldly act. Are you living in the present or are you living for tomorrow? Do not ever chase. It degrades your value, and shows them you're not the prize. It shows your lack, and that you can't lead. You give your power away. You must live your worth. Attract, don't chase, create space. When you are apart it creates anticipation for when you are back. Too much of a good thing can not be good. So too much of one person can desaturate your presence. Sometimes less is more.
You can do less because He will always provide. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" Isiah 41:10 Put your trust in Him, He will take care of the rest. Remember not to worry or over stress. He will straighten your crooked path. It is not my strength, or perseverance that keeps me strong. It is Jesus Christ who lives in me. It is His grace, and power. He allows storms to build, and protects me. The lord led me here The lord is praying for me The lord will come to me The lord will grow me The lord will see me through He will never leave us or forsake us. You are God, you are the hero in my life. Help me remember the storm you helped me get through.
What is your storm? Part 3: OUTSIDE ALL DAY Football, tag, bikes, roller blades, skateboards, scooters just to name a few of the things that made up 90’s kids leisure activities. Just remember the moto, sun out - fun out. If it was light outside, you would find kids outside playing. We especially loved summers outside. Anything kids could do to stay cool we enjoyed. Sprinklers were common but you can’t forget to mention the squirt gun. The squirt gun owned the 90s. We would even play tag with the squirt gun. (Think of early ideas of the paint ball fields you would find now.) It was a toy that everyone wanted. They wanted the bigger, better ones. They started to make pressurized ones that shot water super far; called the Super Soaker. It is funny to see 1990s Super Soakers sold as “vintage toys” on eBay now. It makes me feel super old. The joke’s on them though that the super soaker is still an awesome toy. Getting together outside with friends in the 90s was a lot like the movies. BBQs were where we would all gather, eat, and enjoy each other's company. When we got together with friends and families in the 90s you had to call someone's landline to invite them. If you wanted to catch a friend you had to call them when they were home. But honestly you didn't need to call your friends back then, because most likely you would be with them. Everyone went to each other's houses. We were more communal and it was accepted to have friends come over all the time. I think most of us can remember the moment when we invited a friend over for dinner and your mom didn’t know until you both walked in the door after school. Also when you were hanging out with your friends in the 90s they had your full attention. Nowadays kids seem distracted on their phones. It is like you are with someone, but you are not really with them. Your connection is cut off because of the device. The phone holds precedence over who you are with. The community pool was a summer standard in the 90s. What can I say about this? The community pool was a nice place to cool off. Your parents would drop you off or stay inside and you were free to go with your friends. Looking back, you never know how many kids were peeing in the pool. Good thing that pools in that time used so much chlorine. The idea of a community pool became popular in the 1930s but it was the 90s that it was at its peak of popularity. If you were a kid, you wanted to spend your summers at the community pool. It was where you could meet up with your friends, swim, and stay in touch over the summer. The community pools seem to still exist but the culture has changed. More people want to visit private or club level pools; or even better, just swim in your own pool. It lost the community aspect of the activity. Now that we got the nostalgia happening, what was your favorite outside pass time in the 90s? Here is a collection of life’s mottos that I have used to develop over the years. These are life lessons I keep coming back to. They have served me well and I want to share them.
We are all playing a game, what is yours? Is it set to hard or easy mode? I struggle with patience, I don’t want to wait for just about anything. I’m learning patience the further I go on my journey, that will take me to the sunset. There is no right time to meet someone new. I could've waited my whole life, but when you know you know. I might have been young but I knew what, and who, I wanted. Because I was so young, and dumb, I was in no position to provide. Or be the rock I wanted to be for her. I used what I had and made it work. It may not have been 5 stars, but I made it as special as I could. You see, I am determined. I don’t just want her love for a season, I want her for life. That is why I will not stop improving. I don’t want her to get bored with me and think it could be better somewhere else. I strive to keep myself learning and growing so we can better serve each other, and our kids. I LOVE YOU!!! Patience is important because it will make everything easier. Patience makes life more enjoyable. Having patience with your kids is crucial to give them space to learn and grow and one day have patience of their own. We are vesicles to teach them but God is the ultimate Father figure. He teaches us patience so we need to emulate that to our children. "Better is the end of a matter than its beginning, and a patient spirit is better than a proud one." — Ecclesiastes 7:8 |
